EDO rejects bankruptcy fears after $9m Santos court flop

The Environmental Defenders Office has rejected concerns it is headed for collapse despite admitting that its $9 million failed legal action against gas giant Santos had raised questions over its future.

The taxpayer-funded green law charity said it had secured a $6.5 million interest-free loan to keep it afloat after posting an $8.6 million loss following its unsuccessful attempt to stop Santos’ Barossa gas project in the Northern Territory.
