Is the market really sold on a February rate cut?

There are few debates that divide the nation more than interest rates, where they should be, and where they should go.

It does not get more heated than the one we’re having ahead of Tuesday’s momentous Reserve Bank rate decision.

A reduction in the cash rate for the first time since November 2020 is on the table. Struggling home owners desperate for mortgage relief – and the Labor government, which is likely to use a cash rate cut to kick off its re-election campaign – are waiting anxiously for the outcome.
