The Australian sharemarket will open higher after a tumultuous week during which it sold off sharply with investors gripped by uncertainty over the Trump administration’s trade and tariff plans.
Tariffs of 25 per cent on Australian steel and aluminium sent to the United States are expected to start on Wednesday, even as Albanese government officials lobby the White House to grant an exemption.
