The sharemarket is set to snap its six-day winning streak despite a rally on Wall Street as solid earnings from major technology stocks Microsoft and Meta bolstered risk appetite.
ASX futures were pointing down 0.4 per cent, or 30 points, predicting the index would open at 8132. US futures rose.
On Wall Street, technology stocks powered the Nasdaq up 1.5 per cent, while the main S&P 500 Index rose 0.7 per cent to notch its longest winning streak since August. Microsoft jumped 7.6 per cent and Meta 4.2 per cent.
