Santos’ Middle Eastern suitor has sought to dispel suggestions that Asian LNG buyers have doubts about its proposed $36.4 billion takeover of the Australian oil and gas producer, a factor expected to be considered in Canberra’s foreign investment approval process.
Santos’ Japanese and South Korean LNG customers and partners are understood to have raised issues around the proposal led by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company with the government as part of its consultation on a wide-ranging review of east coast gas market policies.
