Australian shares are set to open lower as the share rally on Wall Street ran out of steam as traders await both a rate decision and rate outlook from Federal Reserve policymakers.
An expected quarter point cut is anticipated when the Fed’s policy committee releases a statement at 4am AEST on Thursday, and projections from individual policymakers are expected to bolster expectations for another two similar 25 basis point cuts before the end of the year.
