AGL wins backing for climate plan but Cannon-Brookes’ support in doubt

AGL Energy will go into Friday’s annual general meeting with unusually broad investor support for its climate action plan, but could still face opposition from its biggest shareholder, Mike Cannon-Brookes’ Grok Ventures, which has been critical of the company’s decarbonisation efforts.

Institutional Shareholder Services, CGI Glass Lewis, and Ownership Matters, the three largest proxy advisers, have all recommended shareholders back the latest climate transition action plan of the country’s biggest greenhouse gas emitter.
