ASX ‘divorced from the reality’ of investor views on listing rules

Overwhelming shareholder support for a change in the constitution at cans and glass bottle maker Orora, which limits the size of capital raisings the company can conduct without needing a vote, suggests the ASX is out of touch with what investors want.

That’s the view of Simon Mawhinney, the chief investment officer of fund manager Allan Gray, who is pushing for urgent changes to listing rules.
