Investors, corporate governance experts and politicians are demanding the Santos board provide answers on the abrupt exit of chief financial officer Sherry Duhe, as concerns mount about a lack of succession planning at Australia’s second-largest oil and gas company.
CGI Glass Lewis, one of the most influential advisers of institutional investors on matters of corporate governance and management, said Duhe’s departure raises questions about who would succeed its long-serving chief executive Kevin Gallagher, and lead Santos after the collapse last month of a $34 billion takeover offer from the Abu Dhabi National Oil Co.
