RBA rate hike bets jump amid global bond sell-off

Bond yields climbed to multi-month highs on Tuesday, heaping more pressure on the Reserve Bank of Australia to increase the cash rate as traders tracked a global sell-off and Japan hinted at a possible interest rate hike as early as this month

Australia’s policy-sensitive three-year bond rate climbed 6 basis points to 3.94 per cent, the highest since February, while the 10-year yield also advanced 6 basis points to 4.63 per cent, a level last seen in January.
