Soggy equity capital markets have struck at a shocking time for bankers and companies thinking about ending the year with a bang.

The risk is that eight days of falls on the ASX in the past 11, since the Reserve Bank of Australia’s monetary policy board kept rates on hold, will see fund managers turn off risk and go into holiday mode earlier than usual this year.
