The Australian sharemarket is set to open higher after a volatile session on Wall Street as technology stocks whipsawed ahead of a busy US reporting week.
Futures were pointing up 14 points, or 0.2 per cent, predicting the S&P/ASX 200 would notch a fourth day of gains.
The S&P 500 Index fell as the rally that clinched its best week this year lost steam, before turning marginally positive in late trade as dip buyers stepped in. The Dow closed 0.3 per cent higher while the Nasdaq slipped 0.1 per cent as losses from Amazon and Microsoft tussled with Meta and Apple’s advance. Amazon and Meta will report on Thursday.
