Santos is considering building a second production unit at its Darwin LNG plant, a move that would open up a pathway to international markets for gas from the vast Beetaloo Basin fields in the Northern Territory.
The news, revealed by NT explorer Tamboran Resources on Thursday, comes as Santos weighs up options for new projects against pressure from investors to prioritise dividends and returns.
