Overview

AGL Energy says its annual profit will come in at the higher end of previous guidance thanks to improved power plant availability, and reassured that it has enough diesel storage to withstand the global fuel supply crunch for at least the next three months.

The company, which updated its 2026 financial year guidance ahead of a speech by chief executive Damien Nicks at the Macquarie Australia Conference on Wednesday afternoon, said it expected underlying profit after tax to land between $610 million and $680 million – lifting the floor of its previous guidance by about 5 per cent.
