Cboe Australia wants to lure companies to its alternative exchange with innovation and support services rather than competing with the ASX purely on price, as it seeks to increase pressure on the incumbent, which is already under intense regulatory scrutiny.
The corporate regulator on Tuesday approved an application by Chicago-based Cboe Global Markets, allowing it to list companies on its Australian platform. That adds to Cboe’s existing ability to list exchange-traded funds and facilitate equities trading.
