Australian shares are set for a turbulent start to the week as investors balance optimism over a potential Iran-US ceasefire with renewed threats of military escalation from US President Donald Trump.
Investors are focused on talks between the US, Iran and regional mediators over a possible 45-day ceasefire, Axios reported on Monday, which could pave the way for an end to the conflict. Asian trading suggested markets were tentatively pricing a “peace dividend”.
