ASX to rally after Nvidia powers Wall St to record highs

Australian shares are poised to open higher. All three US benchmarks gained, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite setting new intraday records. The Dow Jones topped 50,000, ending the session 0.3 per cent shy of its record.

ASX 200 futures were up 49 points or 0.6 per cent to 8720. The S&P 500 was 0.8 per cent higher in New York, closing above 7500 for the first time, with information technology leading the advance of six of its 11 industry sectors. It earlier peaked at 7517.12.
