Australian shares are set to open sharply higher after futures reversed earlier double-digit losses. Gold, which earlier leapt to a record high above $US4800 an ounce, pared its jump. Bitcoin turned, as did US Treasury yields.
Shares advanced in New York, in a relief rally, after President Donald Trump said he would not use force to take control of Greenland and then extended gains in afternoon trade when Trump said a ‘framework’ agreement had been reached regarding the Danish territory.
