Dan Murphy’s owner Endeavour hopes for summer bump as sales slide

Sales at Endeavour’s powerhouse brand Dan Murphy’s and BWS chains continue to slide, with the hospitality giant hoping brisk business over summer will prove the company is not facing the same broad shift away from alcohol consumption as others in the industry.

The company, which has been without a permanent chief executive since Steve Donohue left in March, said sales at Dan Murphy’s and BWS had fallen 1.3 per cent in the first seven weeks of the financial year, putting Endeavour on track for its fifth decline in six quarters.
