The Australian sharemarket fell for a second straight session on Tuesday after US President Donald Trump’s tariff threats over Greenland continued to weigh on risk appetite.

The S&P/ASX 200 Index dropped 0.7 per cent, or 58.60 points, to 8815.90, with seven of 11 sectors finishing lower. Wall Street, closed on Monday for Martin Luther King jnr Day, looks set to fall around 1 per cent across the major indices when trading resumes.
