Global investors are turning their backs on the Australian sharemarket in favour of North Asia, lured by the artificial intelligence revolution and an ongoing shake-up in corporate governance that has catapulted the region’s equity markets to be among the world’s best performers.
The shift into countries such as South Korea and Taiwan also marks a change in how people are investing in Asia, moving away from making broad-brush regional bets and into gaining specific exposure to chipmakers and robotics.
