Santos has missed its end-of-March target for starting up its $4.5 billion Pikka project in Alaska, but the surge in oil and gas prices has taken the pressure off top management ahead of the company’s annual meeting.
The late start-up of Pikka comes after Santos missed its end-of-December target to begin production at its Barossa project in the Timor Sea. That gas venture has since shipped its first cargoes but has halted output due to repair work required on the production ship.
