Super funds pile into Ardian’s $30b infrastructure fund

Australian superannuation funds are ramping up exposure to European infrastructure, joining a wave of global investors in backing French private investment firm Ardian’s record $US20 billion ($30.82 billion) infrastructure platform.

Ardian said its latest vehicle – Ardian Infrastructure Fund VI – reached its $US13.5 billion hard cap, with additional co-investments taking the total commitments to $US20 billion. It said that 10 new Australian investors accounted for 8 per cent of the fund, equivalent to around $1.5 billion.
