Overview

Superhero, the online share-trading platform popular among younger investors, has hired former Liberal leader Sussan Ley’s chief of staff to head its corporate and government affairs efforts amid a continuing backlash against Labor’s budget changes that critics say will hurt wealth creation.

Dean Shachar worked for then-prime minister Scott Morrison before taking the top job in Ley’s office. He joins a fast-growing investment platform founded in 2018 and now worth $150 million. Superhero has 450,000 customers, half of whom it says are under 35.
