Terrified of missing out on a sudden surge in asset prices, traders are diving back into the market betting that the crucial Strait of Hormuz in the Middle East will reopen within a month despite the back and forth between Iran and the US.

Hugh Dive, chief investment officer at Atlas Funds Management, said a fear of being left behind in a rapid market rebound had fuelled a wave of speculation across global trading floors.
