Transurban says it made wrong call on Melbourne traffic rebound

Tollroad group Transurban underestimated the rate at which traffic would rebound in Melbourne after the pandemic, with volumes on its lucrative CityLink motorway still below 2019 levels, according to chief financial officer Henry Byrne.

“We called that wrong coming out of COVID,” he told the Macquarie Australia Conference in Sydney on Wednesday.
