Fourteen years after Origin Energy supposedly changed Australian equity raisings for good, the much-vaunted PAITREO is on its deathbed.
We’ve heard all the excuses why: markets are too volatile, timetables are too long, retail sub-underwriting is too expensive, there are too few institutional investors willing to backstop deals, and they don’t create value for retail investors, anyway.
